Saturday (July 29th) my choice are:
- Jiffycon – Fine indie RPG gaming and meeting some of the people from The Forge and Story Games (though I’ll admit to being somewhat intimidated by their gaming fu)
- Northeast Chiff and Fipple Whistle Gathering 2006 – meeting fellow Chiff & Fipple folks, hearing lots of different whistles, seeing the Sweetheart Flute workshop
- Laura Anne Gilman (aka suricattus) signing at Pandemonium Books – Gilman, books, Cambridge
I’m probably leaning toward the C&F gathering, in part because it’s the one that’s actually in Connecticut, but it’s supposed to be ridiculously hot weather on Saturday, so we’ll see. This is in theory supposed to be just the first Jiffycon, and now that I’ve played The Roach there’s nothing being run this time around that I’m dying to play (as opposed to just wanting to play), so I might wait for the next one of those. As for the signing, I don’t think I actually need to trek up to Boston to get a book signed, so I’m likely going to pass on that.

Too much taking the author for granted, eh? Sorry ’bout that. If it wasn’t all the way up in Boston, I might still have made it. Of course, Pandemonium is pretty much the closest big SF bookstore around these parts….
“Big,” of course, being a figurative measurement. Or have they finished moving out of The Garage?
They have indeed settled into their new abode. I’m looking forward to seeing it.
Where is the new abode, anyway?
