Today in email:
We wanted to let you know we will be eliminating Profiles, the feature that allowed you to set up separate DVD Queues under one account, effective September 1, 2008.
Each additional Profile Queue will be unavailable after September 1, 2008. Before then, we recommend you consolidate any of your Profile Queues to your main account Queue or print them out.
While it may be disappointing to see Profiles go away, this change will help us continue to improve the Netflix website for all our customers.
Gee, thanks Netflix. That’s really helpful. And that reason you give for the change….hey, that’s not even an actual reason at all, is it? No, I get decreased functionality (now I won’t have the ability to make sure that I always have out one movie and one television series by using two separate queues for my account) and you can’t even be bothered to come up with even a real explanation.
You suck.
I wonder if Blockbuster has profiles….
The best competition to a cartel is Robin Hood… torrent wisely, and give money to charity.
Grrr. I like Netflix, but this is a really stupid policy on their part. I guess the feature was harder for them to handle than they thought, eh?
I’ll admit to being a little frustrated, but then… I mainly used my profiles as a secondary queue so that I could have more than 500 movies. I imagine I’m not alone in that regard. It may be it was shut down due to abuse by people like me. =)
