Boskone 2005

So, another Boskone attended, another fun time had.

Despite the fact that I actively didn’t like their pick for Guest of Honor (Orson Scott Card, ugh!), and only found three things that I wanted to attend (an excellent lecture by Alastair Reynolds called “Reimagining Space Opera,” a panel moderated by suricattus about food and authors, and a reading by suricattus), I still had a good time thanks to the cool people I was able to hang out with, both in the hotel bar and elsewhere. Thanks for having me along again this year arcaedia!

Books I bought at Boskone (despite the dealers’ room being more lame than usual):

Dogs in the Moonlight by Jay Lake
The Year of Our War by Steph Swainston
Alphabet of Thorne by Patricia McKillip
Sunshine by Robin McKinley
Pandora’s Star by Peter F. Hamilton
Nine Layers of Sky by Liz Williams
City of Pearl by Karen Traviss
1602 by Neil Gaiman (hardcover collection of the Marvel series)

I’m very much looking forward to Boskone 2006, though I haven’t yet decided whether I’ll be stalking Ken MacLeod (next year’s GoH) or Cory Doctorow. 😉
