Happy Birthday, wojsvenwoj!

Filched from immlass (who got it from pnh). People I have met are bolded. If I’ve met you (and I’m using the value of “met” that means spoken with ftf) and left you off the list, give me a poke.

Apparently most of the people I haven’t met yet are either writers or game designers.
Not just any webcomic
There are plenty of good webcomics out there, but A LESSON IS LEARNED BUT THE DAMAGE IS IRREVERSIBLE is operating on a whole other level. Go and take a look for yourself.
Quiz: Which Dresden Files Character are You?
I am Harry Dresden.
In my corner of the country, I’m trying to nail things down. I don’t want to live in a world where the strong rule and the weak cower. I’d rather make a place where things are a little quieter. Where trolls stay the hell under their bridges, and where elves don’t come swooping out to snatch children from their cradles. Where vampires respect the limits, and where the faeries mind their p’s and q’s. My name is Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden. Conjure by it at your own risk. When things get strange, when what goes bump in the night flicks on the lights, when no one else can help you, give me a call. I’m in the book. |
Drat….I was hoping Kincaid was in there somewhere (or maybe even the athiest Knight of the Cross), but no such luck….

I’m probably not going to go see the preview version of the movie a second time, but I’m guessing the Hartford showing will sell out again despite my absence.
Yet another Firefly quiz
Since I’m going to one of the advance screenings for Serenity on Thursday, I figured I’d take this quiz.
The dreaded music meme
I’ve been tagged by immlass:
1. Total number of records I own on CD (or vinyl or cassette):
CDs: The total is somewhere in the 550-600 range, I think.
Vinyl: About 100 or so LPs, despite the fact that I pretty much never listen to them.
Cassettes: Maybe 50 or so pre-recorded cassettes, which I also never actually play anymore.
2. Total volume of music files on my computer:
Errr….I have no idea, and I’m not using any handy all-encompassing music programs that’ll tell me. Far less than 1G though, as most of what I have is whatever samples I’ve downloaded.
3. The last record I bought:
Tanya Donelly, Whiskey Tango Ghosts. It’s a great record, despite not sounding at all like Belly, or even much like her previous solo efforts. My thanks to wojsvenwoj for recommending it.
4. The last record listened to / song playing now:
I’ve currently got the stream for the upcoming Sleater-Kinney album, Woods, playing. This one’s extra-crunchy, with plenty of distortion, as S-K once again push the boundries of what they can do.
5. Five records that I listen to a lot or that mean a lot to me (either singles or albums):
a. Tori Amos, Little Earthquakes. This is pretty much the CD that got me into female vocals. Or maybe it’d be more accurate to say that it’s the one that made me nuts for them.
b. Sleater-Kinney, Dig Me Out. The first S-K CD I bought, and probably still the one I listen to the most.
c. Susan McKeown & Lindsay Horner, Through the Bitter Frost and Snow. This is far and away my favorite holiday/winter/Christmas album, mainly because I love Susan’s voice.
d. Veda Hille, Spine. Veda is completely and utterly brilliant, and this album is just one great song after another.
e. Dresden Dolls, self-titled. Since I got this CD over a year ago, it’s pretty much lived in my   portable CD case.
6. Finally, tag five people to do this meme:
I’ll tag both wojsvenwoj and smoemeth, because of the depth and sheer size of their shared CD collection, colomon, because he’ll pick all sorts of cool trad stuff, lintra, because I have no real idea what her tastes in music are, and jaylake, just because I can. As always, no obligation implied for those I’ve tagged, and no reason for anyone else to feel like they can’t pick up the meme despite not being tagged..
