{"id":111,"date":"2005-10-01T15:08:00","date_gmt":"2005-10-01T21:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/of2minds.org\/michael\/?p=111"},"modified":"2005-10-01T15:08:00","modified_gmt":"2005-10-01T21:08:00","slug":"mirrormask-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/of2minds.org\/michael\/2005\/10\/01\/mirrormask-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Mirrormask"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0366780\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mirrormask<\/a> was quite excellent and visually stunning, so I&#8217;ve definitely got no regrets<br \/>\nabout passing up seeing Serenity on opening night to see Dave &#038; Neil&#8217;s movie instead.<br \/>\nI&#8217;ll try to get an actual review posted over at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.of2minds.org\/otm\/\" target=\"_blank\">Of Two Minds<\/a> by the end of the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Plus, I figured Serenity already had more than enough Browncoats coming out to show<br \/>\ntheir support, while Mirrormask needed (and still needs) a strong opening weekend to<br \/>\neven get past its currently limited release.  A big smack upside the head for the<br \/>\nexecutive at Sony who decided that opening Mirrormask opposite Joss&#8217; baby was<br \/>\na good idea.  The audiences aren&#8217;t identical, but I&#8217;m sure there&#8217;s quite a bit of overlap.<br \/>\nIf you&#8217;ve already done your Browncoat duty this weekend, and you&#8217;re a fan of Neil<br \/>\nGaiman&#8217;s writing and\/or Dave McKean&#8217;s art, and you&#8217;re lucky enough to live in or near<br \/>\none of the cities where Mirrormask is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sonypictures.com\/movies\/mirrormask\/theaters\/\" target=\"_blank\">currently playing<\/a>, take the time to go see it.<br \/>\nYou&#8217;ll be glad you did.<\/p>\n<p>And yes, I do plan on seeing the full version of Serenity at some point too.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mirrormask was quite excellent and visually stunning, so I&#8217;ve definitely got no regrets about passing up seeing Serenity on opening night to see Dave &#038; Neil&#8217;s movie instead.
