Beagle (F&#038;SF Oct\/Nov 2005) <\/p>\n<p>   Hurray for Peter S. Beagle!<\/p>\n<p>SHORT STORY<br \/>\n  &#8212; &#8220;Tk&#8217;tk&#8217;tk&#8221;, David D. Levine (Asimov&#8217;s Mar 2005) <\/p>\n<p>   I was guessing the winner would be Margo Lanagan, but congratulations to David (aka <a href=\"http:\/\/davidlevine.livejournal.com\/\" class=\"lj-user\">davidlevine<\/a>) for pulling off a win.<\/p>\n<p>RELATED BOOK<br \/>\n  &#8212; Storyteller: Writing Lessons and More from 27 Years of the Clarion Writers&#8217; Workshop, Kate Wilhelm (Small Beer Press) <\/p>\n<p>   No big surprise there, I don&#8217;t think<\/p>\n<p>DRAMATIC PRESENTATION: LONG FORM<br \/>\n  &#8212; Serenity (Universal Pictures\/Mutant Enemy, Inc.; Written &#038; Directed by Joss Whedon) <\/p>\n<p>   Not much of a surprise here either.<\/p>\n<p>DRAMATIC PRESENTATION: SHORT FORM<br \/>\n  &#8212; Doctor Who: &#8220;The Empty Child&#8221; &#038; &#8220;The Doctor Dances&#8221; (BBC Wales\/BBC1; Directed by James Hawes; Written by Steven Moffat) <\/p>\n<p>   I&#8217;m glad the fact that there were three Doctor Who episodes nominated didn&#8217;t split the vote so much that something else won.<\/p>\n<p>PROFESSIONAL EDITOR<br \/>\n  &#8212; David G. Hartwell <\/p>\n<p>   This one did surprise me, as I thought the nod would end up going to Ellen Datlow, in part because of the demise of SciFiction.<\/p>\n<p>PROFESSIONAL ARTIST<br \/>\n  &#8212; Donato Giancola <\/p>\n<p>   Ummm&#8230;okay.<\/p>\n<p>SEMIPROZINE<br \/>\n  &#8212; Locus, Charles N. Brown, Kirsten Gong-Wong &#038; Liza Groen Trombi, eds. <\/p>\n<p>   Shocking!<\/p>\n<p>FANZINE<br \/>\n  &#8212; Plokta, Alison Scott, Steve Davies &#038; Mike Scott, eds. <\/p>\n<p>   I&#8217;m not familiar with any of the nominees, but congratulations to the winners.<\/p>\n<p>FAN WRITER<br \/>\n  &#8212; Dave Langford <\/p>\n<p>  Cool.<\/p>\n<p>FAN ARTIST<br \/>\n  &#8212; Frank Wu <\/p>\n<p>   It couldn&#8217;t happen to a nicer guy.  Seriously.  Hurray for Frank getting another Hugo!<\/p>\n<p>John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer [Not a Hugo]<\/p>\n<p>  &#8212; John Scalzi<\/p>\n<p>   Well, I&#8217;ve got to say that I was somewhat surprised that John won, if only because he was in his first year of eligibility.  Plus, I&#8217;d been rooting for Sarah Monette (aka <a href=\"http:\/\/truepenny.livejournal.com\/\" class=\"lj-user\">truepenny<\/a>).  Ah, well.
