Total volume of music files on my computer:

Errr….I have no idea, and I’m not using any handy all-encompassing music programs that’ll tell me. Far less than 1G though, as most of what I have is whatever samples I’ve downloaded.

3. The last record I bought:

Tanya Donelly, Whiskey Tango Ghosts. It’s a great record, despite not sounding at all like Belly, or even much like her previous solo efforts. My thanks to wojsvenwoj for recommending it.

4. The last record listened to / song playing now:

I’ve currently got the stream for the upcoming Sleater-Kinney album, Woods, playing. This one’s extra-crunchy, with plenty of distortion, as S-K once again push the boundries of what they can do.

5. Five records that I listen to a lot or that mean a lot to me (either singles or albums):

a. Tori Amos, Little Earthquakes. This is pretty much the CD that got me into female vocals. Or maybe it’d be more accurate to say that it’s the one that made me nuts for them.

b. Sleater-Kinney, Dig Me Out. The first S-K CD I bought, and probably still the one I listen to the most.

c. Susan McKeown & Lindsay Horner, Through the Bitter Frost and Snow. This is far and away my favorite holiday/winter/Christmas album, mainly because I love Susan’s voice.

d. Veda Hille, Spine. Veda is completely and utterly brilliant, and this album is just one great song after another.

e. Dresden Dolls, self-titled. Since I got this CD over a year ago, it’s pretty much lived in my &nbsp portable CD case.

6. Finally, tag five people to do this meme:

I’ll tag both wojsvenwoj and smoemeth, because of the depth and sheer size of their shared CD collection, colomon, because he’ll pick all sorts of cool trad stuff, lintra, because I have no real idea what her tastes in music are, and jaylake, just because I can.
