With plans for dinner to include ribs that are going to marinate all day in the BBQ sauce I've been working on developing, I was thinking this morning about Little Mark's Big BBQ. Unfortunately, they don't have a web page. But if you're ever in the neighborhood of Vernon, CT and you'd like an amazing BBQ experience, stop off at this restaurant, well-known and well-favored by locals.

I've mainly stuck with the beef and pork ribs myself, always with the hot sauce (despite a vague plan to someday try one of the other varieties), and they are truly great, IMO. The quality of the beef ribs does seem to vary more visit to visit than that of the pork though, which might explain why the reviewer's were kind of dry the day he went. Overall though, this is one of my favorite restaurants, despite being distinctly non-Asian. *grin*
Posted by: Michael at May 5, 2003 9:22 PMWhen visiting Little Mark's, I always order the pork ribs (my favorite) as I now live in North Carolina and get to Little Mark's only once a year. On my first visit (years ago, while living in Connecticut), I ordered a full rack. When it was delivered, I thought it was a bit smaller than most of the full racks I'd enjoyed elsewhere. Then I realized there was another rack underneath the one I was eyeing, so the order was actually larger than I've had anywhere else. I've lived all over the country, including Texas and Tennessee, and Little Mark's has the second best pork ribs I've ever enjoyed. The best are in Kansas City, Missouri at KC Masterpiece in the Country Club Plaza (about 10 visits over the years). But Little Mark's has the best pork ribs this side of Kansas City. And their baked beans are the best, bar none.
